The Nuffnang Blush


I made it to the Nuffnang Blogopolis Conference in Sydney!
Spot me paying attention. 
I'm super focused like that.
My day started at 3.30am and I was on the road by 4.00am. My sister came along for the ride as I needed to go down and back in one day, adding eight hours of travel to the Conference proceedings.

 I was greeted by Jenn from Mountains and Musings and Lisa from Sweet Little Pretties. All newbie bloggers, we befriended one another on Twitter and faced the blogging fray together.

 There were hundreds of bloggers and I may have been a little star struck by some.

 My moment of least composure came meeting Tina Gray from Tina Gray{dot}Me. I love Tina's blog, she's down to earth and totally relateable. I saw her from a distance,  but wasn't sure if it was her. She looks different, she's rockin' a particularly good hair do right now. She sat down at our table and when she introduced herself I'm quite sure I let out an audible squeal. It resulted in a Tweet:

 thanks for feeding my ego. Haha! x
I told you she was nice.

 Tina was sitting with Katrina from The Organised Housewife, another uber awesome blogger. For the record, she declined the offer to organise my house.

 Mrs Woog sat at the table in front of us for most of the day. Another blogger with fabulous hair who would have omitted a  squeal if I had the balls to introduce myself, I didn't. Instead I tweeted at her and somehow ended up in a discussion about rubbing her butt cheeks.

 Mrs Woog Tweets:

I send a reply:
 My arse is numb sitting in a chair! Give it a rub love.

Mrs Woog replies:
 You give it a rub for me!
I reply:
 The cheek Mrs Woog. Well two cheeks actually!
How can I be coward enough not to walk up and say hello, but I can banter with her about rubbing her butt cheeks? I'm such a loser!

 Anyway, love your work Mrs Woog.

 All reasons to blush aside, the Conference was great. Highlights for me were the SEO and Web Analytics session with Jeff Tan and the Media Kit session hosted by Lady Melbourne.

 It's an exciting time in the Australian Blogosphere. Things are in a rapid state of change and growth. With that comes frustration but also great opportunity. The challenge for each blogger is to find their voice and to use it without reservation. My take home from the Conference:

That was just my interpretation. It was a great day, if not a little overwhelming. I hope to meet up with you next time. I work as a Youth Development Officer - I think we have a bit in common.
